Connect with other bonsai nerds in your area

Hello. I live in the San Fernando Valley (9a) in Los Angeles and am lucky to have multiple clubs and nurseries in my area. I am a member of the California Bonsai Society, Sansui-Kai Bonsai Club, Descanso Bonsai Society and Conejo Valley Bonsai Society and do the live streaming during our club demos to promote bonsai education for our bonsai community. If you want to learn how live stream during your club events, hit me up. We have a team at CBS dedicated to this work.

Regards,
Mel

@ferndinho, I would love to come to a meeting sometime. I’m in Annapolis, so not too far. Any recommendations on a particular meeting to attend? Not sure if you have meetings for this or that, and one may be better than another for someone new. I’ll check out the website for your club…

I live in Issaquah. Joined PSBA a year ago, but let my membership lapse because I wasn’t able to make it to the meetings very often. Would like to start going again.

Hello all, I am originally from Portland Oregon. Just moved to Columbus Ohio with my fiance for her to attend OSU. I am apart of Bonsai Society of Portland and I will go back and forth to portland to visit family and friends. But now that I am in Columbus my circle of bonsai buddies has gone from many to zero. Is there anyone on Mirai that is in the Columbus or Ohio or surrounding areas? I might Join the Columbus Bonsai society but have not gotten any email response from the message I already sent to the club.

Representing Tennessee and NBS (Nashville Bonsai Society) here! So happy to be a part of this amazing group! Mirai has inspired me to increase my knowledge and expand. I have never really been a fan of pines and junipers really as they always seemed…over worked. Because of Mirai though, I am now wanting to delve into conifers. Can’t wait until spring starts to arrive this year! So many plans!!!

Western Suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Looking forward to having Ryan come out here in May - but that’s off topic.

I am not a member of any of these clubs but plan on joining very soon.

https://www.bonsainorthwest.com.au/ - Bonsai Northwest Melbourne
https://www.vicnativebonsai.com.au/ - Victorian Native Bonsai Club
http://www.bonsaisocietyvictoria.com.au/ - Bonsai Society of Victoria

I’m sure there are others in Melbourne but those are the ones I’ve come across.

We used to have a club in Carson City, apparently, but the organizer passed away some years ago. If you live in the Reno area, a couple of bonsai nerds and myself, are considering starting a new club here modeled after the BSOP. If you are near, give me a shout.

Maybe contact Scott Chadd of Lotus Bonsai Nursery, He may be able to hook you up with a good club in your area.

Looks like Bills Bayou already set you up. Awesome! Scott Chadd used to be the president of GSBF, so it all works out.

Anyone or any groups in the Amarillo, TX area? It’s a bonsai wasteland here. It’s been incredibly hard to find anything bonsai related.
