I humbly present my DeGroot Spire Thuja. Gem of a little tree. It was potted up this year and will have its first real styling next spring.

The bonsai below me started as an air layer
Shohin Crepe Myrtle from air-layer, 2 years in this container. One of my favorite wee trees in the garden, its a little shaggy at the moment as I’m waiting for it’s current flush of foliage to harden off.
For scale
and the bonsai below is …?
Paired with a nice rose…
Since there was no suggestion, I’m going to hijack the chain :-p
this is Podocarpus totara, a NZ native conifer, they like to grow very thick trunks,
The bonsai below is a Monterey cypress
This Monterey Cypress was collected in early 2018 after years of deer pruning; it was repotted in the spring of 2019 and has a bit of structural wire. It will be repotted next January.
The bonsai below me is in a non-traditional container.
I routed the bottom of a plastic curio box. The “tree” is a Chinese Privet.
The bonsai below me is an Eastern Hemlock.
How about a common hackberry ?
what is the next tree to sooth my isolation?
@Bonsai_bob holy crap! I totally f’d that up You’re right.
How about something a little different. The tree below me is a seldom seen bonsai tree. So something like a strange or uncommon tree/succulent/bush.
does an asymmetrical Lonicera qualify? These honeysuckles are considered invasive in the midwest.
I don’t know about Doug flurr, but here’s a Pseudotsuga menziesii for you
First potting and structural wiring this spring. I’m letting it blow out and back bud for the next couple years to prune back to. Can’t quite decide on a front.
The bonsai below me is something tropical!
I present my powder puff tree. Reset its structure a bit a week or so ago. Full pruning will come next year after it recovers from the repotting.
Before
After
The bonsai below me was bought from Mirai.
This was in a corner of a bonsai nursery for about 9 bucks, abused and nobody saw any potential. Not “there” yet.
The bonsai below me is a cascade mtn native.
