Does anyone play around making Kusamono when there isn’t much to work on with trees?
How do you decide what plants compliment which trees? Based on species? Style? Scene or feeling being conveyed? What do you do with them after they’ve been used for display? Do you only use them for show displays or for additions around the garden??
Has anyone actually responded to your post? Id love to hear the answers if yes. Kusamono is starting to interest me aswel… as if bonsai alone wasnt enough
Ryan talked about this during the Kusamono video withYoung Choe, environmental conditions, (native to where the tree grows) is part of it but there are many other factors… seasonality, color, texture, height …ect. I would fall back on “what am i trying to accomplish with the Kusamono”. Pwrosnally I stink at them and just make them on a whim
I only have a few, nothing great and they were more of an exercise to match the kusamono plants with the pots I make but I will share. I have not taken it to the next level, yet, nor shown anything I make in a show. So take it for what it’s worth.
