Ponderosa Pine Pot Choice

Hello all —
Looking to repot this spring, not sure what style of pot to go for. Thoughts? Thanks!

My thought is to go rectangular and fairly tall/deep, to play up the height of the tree. Color should be red to yellow, to contrast with the gray-brown trunk and make the foliage pop.
Hope that gives you some ideas.

I would agree with Chado-ojisan as to shape: rectangle or square, but with corners rather than curves. The tree gives a definite impression of power more than grace (no offense intended).
You might go deep, but keep in mind that a shallow pot may show off the nebari more.
Sara Rayner makes a finish that she developed specifically for ponderosas. Here’s a picture of the pot I bought from her last month.
