Miyajima White Pine [Pot selection]

Hello all –

I’m contemplating a new pot for my pine during the upcoming repotting season. Eager to hear your opinions. Should I stick with a rectangular pot or switch to an oval? I’m also wondering whether to choose a deeper or more shallow pot. I’ve always struggled choosing a nice balance…

As always your input is appreciated!

Edit: Current pot is 8" and the tree stands 9" tall from soil line

Great photoshop imo :slight_smile:
Since your tree is leaning towards being semi cascade I wouldn’t go with shallower pot but definitely narrower and perhaps rounded. Darker color too in order to make the grey trunk and lovely green foliage stand out.
