Hi everyone,
I can across this Hetzi Columnar Juniper last fall at a local nursery. It was in the scratch and dent section since it lost its top and I was able to get it for 10 dollars. Anyway, it seems to have made it through winter and I wanted to start the initial styling of it soon but I can’t seem to find much information on people using this particular species for bonsai.
Does anyone have any advice or experience with this variety? I am pretty new to bonsai, so I would appreciate any advice I can get about it. Anything about styling, care/maintenance or even the hardiness of this particular verity would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Googling it, it looks like a cultivar of juniperus chinensis, which is fairly common in bonsai. I don’t know much about this one, but it sounds like it’ll probably very vertical in nature compared to other Chinese junipers. Good luck!
That is very helpful, there seems to be much more information on juniperus chinensis. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
