Every October all my privets get hit by cercospora. This year instead of smothering everything in daconil I used the event as my last post harden prune/partial defoliation. The fall flush is tiny.

1-1/2 years later, the little guy is still alive and kicking. It took a few tries, but I finally managed to get some branching. The trunk is starting to bark up nicely.

Three years old. Still going strong. Developed some bark and nebari. The pot’s about the same diameter as a US nickel.
