Too late to repot boxwood?

Procrastinated here. I know boxwoods are pretty tolerant, but I’m not sure…

I also hate the current pot and b/c I was undecided on the new pot, I may have waited too long. I think I need to remove that trunk in the front jetting straight out to the viewer, too.

Boxwoods are pretty bulletproof. I have repotted them this time of year and later, and gotten away with it. This is a good time of year to find them on the trash heap in my area. I have done just that, sometimes sitting out a day and they have made it. I’m in Dallas TX, btw and it was 90F today. I agree abut the pot.

Its still kinda cold in NYC, but getting warmer. Still undecided on pot though… Not quite sure how to pair up the rounded and mounded nature of the trees with an appropriate pot.

If it did not push out significantly I’d go ahead.

Lol, that’s how I got my urban yamadori boxy.

I can visualize that in a squared off rectangle. :+1:t4:

I was thinking a shallow rectangle too, or a shallow oval. Unglazed. I like the contrast.

Looks like it will take more than one repot to get it safely into anything shallow…

You can repot boxwoods just about anytime. Good aftercare and good to go. I like a oval as well. I would not be in too much of a hurry to get it in a shallow container. Its still in development give it some room then eventually go for the shallow pot.
