Do you think you can get it to back bud about half way down the branch structure eventually? That would look amazing if you can get it to really fill out that far down.
What are your design plans with it?
It all depends on what lives and what the tree decides to let go while growing new roots. I how to have a better idea of a design next year. It looks so healthy i have to be patient. If you see a direction from the photos let me know.
You should not remove any foliage. The tree will need the foliage to recover the root system. If the roots can’t supply enough water to keep all the branches hydrated after collection the tree will decide which ones to let go.
Thanks that it is what i have done. I am also minimizing the sun exposure.
