Thanks for the pictures! Dream Team up on stage.
Thanks for the photos Rene!! So here you are in Belgium and you discover that no one packed the wire rack that keeps the wire handy for efficient use. So… we just use this ancient deadwood to hang it close so we can get this sucker done!! Ha HA ha… love those crazy Americans.
cant wait to see its repotted!
Repotted
This is probably the among the greatest ever transformations I’ve seen in a demo. An amazing tree hidden behind an ordinary design turns into a stunning piece of art.
Awesome, thanks for the photos! Bummer I couldn’t make it in person. What was the species of juniper? Shimpaku?
Really great photos. It was an awesome demo and in general a great Throphy. @ThomasUrban it was a Hokaido Juniper if i remember it correctly.
Is there a “before” picture of the tree anywhere?
Beautiful transformation.
I agree, stunning! My only question was how long after all the foliage work was the root work done?
That looked like ALOT of both at generally the same time. Any worries for this trees future?
As far as I know it was repotted the next day. I’m sure they had to balance the root work with the fact that watering an upside down tree was going to be next to impossible.
Wow, nice photos. Thanks
Foliage looks like a Chinese juniper… similar to the San Jose junipers in USA. I am not familiar with hokaido junipers. Are the needles flat fronds or sharp like a procumbens? Possibly a Sabina?
Leave the overalls at home Troy?
DavidJ We are tree farmers after all and at work when with our trees.
For those wondering about the lacklustre pot (many are elsewhere) I read somewhere a message from Ryan in which he basically said that that was the best they could find at the time but the composition would benefit from a round slanted-edge pot like this but custom made.
I think it was a Taiwanese juniper.
When i remember my right, than this tree was a Sabina.
