Lime sulphur dormancy spray in growing season?

Hey team,
This maybe a very silly question…
Why do we not use lime sulphur during the growing season as a spray for pests and fungi??

Simply because it kills nearly everything living. So it would kill the foliage as well (at least with deciduous). The same reason why you have to pay attention that no lime sulphur gets into the soil and onto the roots.

I am curious… how many of you are using lime sulphur or other dormant sprays? I haven’t used them for 4 years and i don’t really have a lot of pests and fungi problems in the spring. Are they really so useful?

If you don’t need it, then you don’t need it.

I’ve never used it before this year, but winter 19-20 we had a very mild winter and I got wrecked with fungus and insect problems for all of 2020. This is the first time I’ve had that happen, so I used dormant sprays to hopefully knock it all down and get things back under control.
