Leads on Deciduous bonsai

I am looking for deciduous bonsai. Anyone have recommended sources?

Thanks

I’m going to assume that you’re already a member, but if not this may be a good source of info for decidge that works in your area.

There are a couple of Facebook auction groups, but the prices get out of hand fairly quickly. Like $100 for something I swear someone just bought at Lowe’s for $15 the previous day. I really like what Wigert’s is doing, but they’re in FL. Not sure how many of their trees would work in your area. I’ve never ordered from them though. I’ve just seen what they post on Instagram and have always been impressed. However, I’m not a fan of the “this image is not the actual plant you’ll receive, but we swear we’ll pick the ‘best one’” model of online ordering. :expressionless:

Being in the UK I can’t vouch for them and I am not to sure on the distance from you but is The Hidden Gardens close to you? I remember seeing some photos that Walter Pall has posted in the past about trees there and I think they included deciduous.

What about creating your own from nursery stock? It takes a little while, but seeing the transformation from raw stock to bonsai is really neat.

Nature’s Way in PA. I haven’t personally been there, but I’ve talked to Jim Doyle on the phone and he tells me he has thousands of pieces of material, evergreen and deciduous. Walter Pall does multiple classes there every year, so I would assume Jim has good stuff. I’ve been meaning to go there for quite some time, just quite a drive for me.
