I was looking at some of Mr. kimura’s works in magazines and he seems to be using this instead of raffia.

Looks like the reinforced gummed tape, I used at an old job, but I could be wrong.
Please don’t use tape of any kind on your trees. Ryan explains in the raffia stream why the use of anything but raffia is not a good idea. Trees breath and raffia lets the tree do that, it also will degrade one time and just fall off.
