I thought that perhaps I had been too aggressive during the repot and as a result the tree didn’t survive. Now I know my only mistake was not checking the live vein for borers. Clean your Juniper live veins!

Haven’t you noticed any signs before? Galls…? I mean how can you prevent this if the larva is under the bark and holes are from the adult emerging from there? (right?)
