If in doubt, treat them as single flush
From my Bonsai nursery here in Italy: (keep in mind that it has been translated from Italian)
What’s recommended here is for Tuscany so your working months may be opposite for the southern hemisphere
Pinus halepensis - (Pinaceae)
Native to the Mediterranean coasts, in nature it has a columnar habit and grows up to 15 meters. The characteristic that makes it different from all other pines is its great vigour, which allows the shortened branches to bud back abundantly. It produces short, dark green needles, small conical pine cones and when mature the bark peels off in plates. Bonsai tree that is easy to maintain and has a remarkable aesthetic effect.
Location: outdoors, in the sun and above all under the open sky.
Fertilization: from March to June and from August to October.
Repotting and pruning: from November to April. Defoliation: no.
Wire application: October to March, protect with raffia.
Watering: Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry.
Disinfection: in spring (anti-cochineal) and in summer (red spider mite).
Vase: unglazed.
Potting soil: Akadama Fine - Kiryu - pumice
