If you do a big trunk chop or primary branch removal on a high resource mobility tree in early Spring, when do you come back to reactivate tissue?
I don’t want to be pulling off cut-paste just to check for callous formation all the time to figure it out myself.
I suggest once it stops pushing the cut paste off around the edges. A high resource tree should heal fairly quickly for quite a while after the cut with cut paste. At some point it will probably slow down so rewounding is useful if you are going or fast closure of the wound or expect that you might get decay in the cut. However, it may also heal nicely without rewounding and just keeping it covered with flexible cut paste.
