The Bonsai Below Me - (Member photo challenge)

Aspen - Colorado gold  I collected this little guy and have done nearly nothing to style it.

The bonsai below me is a New Mexico Pivet

Nothing to write home about but this is my Forestieria pubescens (commonly known as stretchberry, desert olive, tanglewood, devil’s elbow, elbow bush, spring goldenglow, spring herald, New Mexico privet) forest.

I threw 5 large cuttings in a pot three years ago and here’s what we’ve got so far.

The bonsai below me is an awesome Lagerstroemia indica (Crape Myrtle).

No one got a Lagerstroemia?

If not @Sharon_Bone wanna give it another try with something else?

Maybe I shouldn’t have used ‘awesome’ in the request!

How about a Sequoia sempervirens that is more than 2’ tall?

Repotted a month ago, unstyled.

Bonsai below me has a base wider than 16”.

Very cool. Who’s pot?
You used a camera for photo I presume

It’s a Corten steel container I designed and made with the help of a buddy of mine. We made 5 containers so far and was able to use 4 of them this past spring. And yep, a Nikon Z8 but any DSLR would have the capacity to capture such photos.

What are you going to do with the 5th? I’d like it!

This is awesome, amazing combo. Also your Instagram is epic dude keep on crushing

Haha the 5th was an unsanctioned design. My buddy that was helping me with it decided to try one out. Didn’t quite go as well. I can send some photos if you’d like.
