Sumac casualty - foliage gone

I broke off the top part of my sumac in a wiring/bending accident today. All of the foliage is gone. Does anyone have experience with sumac enough to know if it will push out new growth? Or did I kill it?

No actual experience, but based upon the fact that they are more shrub like than tree like my guess is that you will get back budding. Just watch the watering to make sure you don’t drown it until it gets leaves and starts to transpire.
