I recently purchased a sharps jm from a nursery. It looks like they let water sit on the leaves every day out in full sun. My real question is the organic soil it’s in stays very damp. I know it not the right time to remove it from its pot but what should I do to Improve drainage?

I’d think about piercing or drilling some holes in the side of the pot, maybe eight or ten, quarter inch or smaller holes, a third or halfway up the side. This kinda replicates the effect of having the tree in a pond basket or wooden box. Theoretically, you’d get more drainage and more evaporation.
