I’m repotting an elm (purchased 2011 from Evergreen Gardenworks) that has been in an anderson flat up until now.
Here are my choices:
We can call them 1, 2, 3, 4.
Thanks!

My suggestion is either 1or. 2 the size of those pots seems appropriate with the tree coming out of a flat, and the color contrasts make the tree pop and highlights the great bark. Great tree!
I like #1 of the options presented.
1-2 have a real nice contrast that caught my eye with the tree (If 1 was a darker color it would be a clear favorite for me… 4 feels like a safe quiet play to me (with that being said, its a fantastic tree and selection of pots I would take this set of problem’s)
I second here @NEBeech and if it was me with these four options size and shape of no 4 suits the best imo. Sure, lighter color to give the tree the opportunity to stand out would be better but no 1 (second best op out of these 4) feels too much for this type of tree and too light. Makes the tree shy away.
I’ll chime in on this one. After looking, I think I’d go for #4. The bark is so dominant, not your typical elm, that I think there’s too much contrast with the lighter colored pots. Cool Tree!
