I was recently given this juniper and was told it was a Rocky Mountain juniper but not sure if that’s right. This tree has been handed down to many people and it’s story lost along the way. If anyone has any thoughts what species this tree is it would be greatly appreciated!!
The tree had some struggles earlier this year before it was passed to me. It seems to be past that for the most part but a lot of the new foliage is juvenile which probably makes identifying it even harder. The last pic is of the trunk with some mesh over it just to try to keep my dogs from eating the fertilizer haha
