Juniper opinions?

Hello, first post, glad to be here. I was curious of everyone’s thoughts on my juniper. I did do some wiring a week or so ago, and I know, the thick wire going up the trunk is terribly done, but I had it wired last year and used a self adhesive tape instead of raffia and did a big bend which is the back branch/pad in the back. well this year I unwrapped some of the wire to cut off the tape but then I rewrapped it so the apex holds. Anyway, aside from the wire job, any opinions or style thoughts on what I have going on so far?. I chose the front you see because the back side was trunk chopped and is a drastic cut and inverse taper, not to mention I like the deadwood in my front.
Thank you!

Hi, I get you choice for the front based on the deadwood in the trunk. My two points of feedback would be that the top leader now moces away from the viewer and I think the design would benefit from a movement that comes more towards the viewer and shaping the pads more downward. Don’t know what your bending possibilities are, but that is something I would consider for the future. And the central jin now moving to the left is relatively big/heavy compared to the rest of the tree. I would make that thinner and shorter. Good luck!

Hello. Well. Ryan says if your apex is dir ecctly above the base it makes the tree less interesting and if you draw a vertical line from your apex to negative it is. I would repot and then don’t touch the tree until it is dense with vegetation , hopefully next spring or summer, then design a beautiful juniper. Good luck. Gary

Thank you for the comments. I know what u r saying with the top, I have bent it forward some where in person it does actually come forward more over the trunk bend but I think the photo was before that work actually otherwise everything is about the same, either way I hear you. And the Jin on the left I feel the same thing so thank u for your insight too, I am looking to peel some of that away/break it up a bit

Good insight into the apex being over the trunk. I need more learning because I was actually trying to get the apex over the trunk line but perhaps that isn’t as interesting. I am planning on just letting it grow and thrive the rest of this year like u said get it dense with vegetation. Also I did repot two weeks ago. Thanks!
