How do you remove sap from the trunk?

Earlier this year I worked a spruce at the absolutely wrong time of the year. It was moving sap like crazy and oozed all over the place. It finally slowed down, but there’s ugly white hardened off sap all over the place. How do I clean it off of the tree?

I could use this info too!

It will eventually dry into a crystalized form then it will crack up and break off.
If you want to remove it now use rubbing alcohol with a cotton swab or small detail paint bush.

Ah, okay. If it’ll eventually come off on its own then I’ll just be patient. Thanks!
