I bought this tree earlier in the year and have left it to recover its strength as it will need to be re potted next year as it has been slip potted by the previous owner.
I plan to re pot it then allow it to recover before I move to style it but would like to pot it with the design mind.
The best base and line are from this area but wondering what peoples thoughts are?
It’s a bit hard to define the foliage pads due to the green background. Any chance of some photos with a plain background and may a look at some other (front back) shots?
I like how it is currently planted. In terms of design, l would continue its open upward movement. I live in juniper country, and there are lots of old trees that have that shape (like a maple)
Ps. I see that this is an older thread, so l wonder what you did with it.?

Still pondering, will be re potting next year and will make a choice by then, I think I will change the angle slightly and create deadwood on the trunk that spirals.
