Can anyone confirm the best time to re-callus an airlayer? I was thinking now as the buds swell but before it leafs out but wasn’t positive.
thanks in advance

Might search the video library I know I just saw it on a video recently but can’t remember witch one it was.
I tried that because I felt like there had to be something, its nearly impossible to search for those specific terms in the library.
don’t you normally start airlayer in the late spring or summer ? what ever time that is is probably the time to rewound . or in the fall just before the roots grow again. (lol oh and winter just to cover every season )
post harden flush is recommended time or when night temps are regularly above 80 degrees (Cuthins in Florida)… I use 65 degrees because of how north I am. But on a two year airlayer I can horticulturally make a story to do it before the leaves flush but I would love to hear from someone who has successfully done 2 year airlayers and re-callused.
@MartyWeiser Any thoughts or experience on this topic?
I do not have any experience with this that I can remember. However, just before the tree starts to go energy positive makes sense to me. The new leaves will start pumping energy towards the rotos and running into a new wound on the callus may prompt root development.
