Best time to airlayer a silverberry in southern california?

Hey guys, The title is fairly self-explanatory, I’m about 2 and a half seasons deep on my bonsai journey. I have never attempted an air layer; I’ve watched the stream but just wanna dial it in for my region, specifically San Diego Zone 10a.
Im guessing early spring?

Appreciate any guidance.

Welcome!

I’m on a similar timeline of my bonsai journey. As an evergreen, I’m pretty sure you’re in the time frame to start the airlayer. Once you get it set, leave as much foliage above the airlayer so that it has the most energy to produce roots. Vascular tissues (roots included) predominant growing season is the fall.

I’m sure others will chime too.
