Airlayer Removal Timing

I airlayered several trees (all deciduous) early this spring. Today was my first time to go in a check on them. One (an American elm) has quite a few roots. When is the best time to separate? Does it need to be done in spring or fall? Or can I do it now? My concern is that we are getting temps in the mid-90s on a consistent basis and will only get hotter through August, not sure if that would be problematic.

@trent.strum I would wait until next spring. Let the air layer continue to produce as many roots as possible will help with a smoother transition once you separate it.
