An unexpected lesson during juniper repot

Yesterday afternoon I with another bonsai enthusiasts started to repot a juniper in a large wood container. As I began to remove the mountain soil and pumice I found the largest roots I have ever had to repot. 24 inches long and it folded on it self countless times. This repot took me nearly 5 -6 hrs of chop stick work. At the end I was able to put the tree in a pot that was available and in several years I hope to repot with a new vision. I learned alot from this repot and can focus only on the tree recovering and continuing forward. Rubber band mind set with the future pot. Longer wider and shallow. Well to lessons and building confidence.
