How is your water/oxygen balance in the soil. Is the tree using the water before you water again? What is the sun exposure? Might also sunburn and too dry.
Doesn’t look like sunburn to me, the black makes me think its fungal. Try a systemic, such as Bonide granular / spray.
From the phots it looks like you could also have mildew so it won’t hurt spraying with fungicide
