The video categories I've found most helpful as a beginner

Hey everyone!

I quickly fell in love with bonsai after being introduced at a casual “build a bonsai” class this year and was pointed to Mirai by the teacher for further studying. After watching some of the public free videos I signed up and started devouring all the videos I could get my hands on. While it took some time to get used to the structure of the library (there are so many videos and categories!) I found the following video series especially helpful for newbies and figured I should share the route I found most helpful to help others lost in the massive back catalog of content.

  1. The Beginner Series (Library → Filter → Content Type → Beginner Bonsai → Beginner Series)
  2. The Beginner Fundamentals Series (Library → Filter → Content Type → Beginner Bonsai → Beginner Fundamentals)
  3. The Mirai Defining Concepts (Library → Filter → Content Type → Education → Mirai Defining Concepts)

If you have other content you feel was helpful to you please let me know!

Howdy,

Great post and very helpful for beginners on the site! It took me a while to find the nuances of the library (I was never clever enough to explore the “Content Type” tab).

Any and every repot video you find time to watch/rewatch will pay dividends.

Cheers!

Not sure of how to filter, but I really got a lot out of the lecture series videos. Really great information and things to think about.

100% agree with the lectures - Design and the Growth Management across multiple times of year.

I kinda miss that format  Always wanting more.

Hey Stephen!
On the library page: https://live.bonsaimirai.com/library you can click on the filter bar at the top and it will show a sidebar with filters you can choose from
