Should I treat Pinus Resinosa like Ponderosa or white pine

I have an Eastern red pine and I’m not sure if it would be more appropriate to treat it like Ryan treats his ponderosa pine, or if I should prune it more like a long-needle single flush pine.

Looks like nobody has experience with Resinosa. I have no experience with it either, but lacking any other information I would assume it’s a long-needle single flush pine. I would treat it like a Ponderosa.

I just finished watching the last Forum Q&A (206 I believe). The last tree of the session was a pinus resinosa and the conclusion was that it behaves like an outlier pine. Would recommend watching that clip.

Thank you so much. I’ve been trying to get some info on this tree for some time now. I will be sure to watch the Q&A.

I believe it will depend on your location (in relation to its native environment) as it is an outlier pine. I have had one in a grow bag for a while and observed it behaves closer to a EWP in zone 6B…but mine is in 100% development so that just means it grows slower than I would like.
