Mr Miyagi taking a rest.
Cute pup! Can I ask you about the heater in the background. I have been looking at these online and would appreciate hearing your feedback.
The heaters work great. In my larger (8X16) greenhouse I need two. The larger one runs on 220 electric (which I had to install), and that is my workhorse. It has a two wattage settings- 1500 and 2800. It has a thermostat that is accurate. The fan is quiet. When the outdoor temperatures get below freezing, temps in the greenhouse get down in the 60’s. That’s when my smaller heater kicks in as a supplement. It has a single wattage setting, and runs on 110 volts. It’s thermostat is set for 65 degrees, so the temps never get colder than that in the greenhouse. I am very happy with both.
It’s my understanding that the greenhouse temps should be just above freezing, around 34°. In order for your trees to go into winter dormancy they need low temps and shorter daylight hours.
It looks like he has tropicals in there though.
I use my greenhouses primarily for tropical trees like ficus, Brazilian raintrees, Texas ebonies, serissas, etc. I leave my non-tropical trees-- conifers, junipers, maples, elms, etc., outside, unless, as it did a month ago, the temperature drops below 25.
Great, thanks for the feedback. I also use my greenhouse for tropical.
Cats and Bonsai just go together! I love everyone’s cute petsai pics. This cat really thought she was one.
Lovely companion. Balances out the roots!
Will be interesting in a show…
Nice tree…
Sometimes it feels like our cat is throwing some competition ‘who looks better’ I swear her posing is the best around my trees!
