Pine needles drying out & branches dying

Hi, I need some help with my pine, the lower branches started to die, and now the upper ones seem unhealthy too already.
I initially thought it might be due to the extreme heat we had here during the last weeks (up to 35°C, especially as I only have a loggia looking to southwest as possible outdoor place, which is getting even hotter. I was told it might be due to the wires heating up too, so I removed all wire a few days ago, but I´m still not sure this is the main cause.
this pic is from 2 weeks ago before I removed the wire, I´ll add more from today

any advise really appreciated!

these died already

and I think these look unhealthy too, correct me if I´m wrong

It happened to me to these past few years I lost 2 mugos and a jwp. The autopsy revealed it was root related.
Not sure if it was extreme heat or a combo of something else in there.
But in a mater of days it went from looking super healthy to basically looking like yours and then dying in a couple of months.

Hmm, interesting, maybe I watered too much? Should I try to repot and check for root rot? I guess there is not much to loose at this point, and other options?

How did you see it was root related exactly?

Best thing to do is to keep it a bit on the dryer side and leave it be. Not much else to do.
If you were to pull it out of the pot you’d see a lot of dead roots. Mine was in the same condition when I moved it from a clay pot to a pond basket. Mycorrhizae was almost gone, a lot of dead and rotting roots, not much else and since there were no bugs or infections the problem had to be the roots

I would also remove any fertilizer. In hot weather you can get a buildup of fertilizer ions in the soil that limits water uptake (water moves from low to high ionic concentration). Chemical fertilizers increase the ionic concentration very soon after application, but the heat can cause a spike with organics as well since the breakdown reactions are thermally activated (and microbes may be more active as well).

thanks, good point, I´ll remove the fertilizer
@Kenez did the move to a pond basket help in your case? that´s what I was thinking about too, but not sure if this or keeping it in the current pot would be the best option right now

Where is all the bark?
Unlike a juniper you should not be removing the bark or cleaning the live vein on a pine.

Perhaps it is just the pictures but it looks like all the bark was peeled off which would probably kill the tree.

I am new but it definitely doesn’t look right to me.
Good luck

Probably just the light in the photo But it look like the heavy bark was removed by something

Perhaps a rodent was eating the bark?
Perhaps my eyesight is getting weak
But there seems to be a discrepancy here

Nope the baskets didn’t do much.
It was a last ditch effort anyway.
I’d say just leave it and watch the watering, keep it out of the rain and hope for the best

It also could be the species of pine, but you can see the bark looks drastically different

I don’t know, just a guess

You got great advice on watering already, I do find the pines are happier with less water.

My only recommendation would be to bury the pot in gravel
As I have had great root growth on my pines the where half buried in gravel.
They are pushing out of the pot

What type of soil is it in?
