So due to the very warm weather we had this past winter, bonsai vermin have been out and ravaging my garden. Already I’ve had tons of aphids, caterpillars, and now spider mites! FML…SMH. For the past 3-4 weeks I’ve been attempting to fend off these vermin with Neem Oil, BT, spinosoaid, insecticidal soap, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and more. For the past 3 were rainy and warm… Now I’m dealing with fungus on weakened trees, Gawd! I’m resorting to malathion bombing my trees. Going to use 1/2 oz per gallon and assess. I don’t like the idea of organophosphates but I cant continue to let my plants be ravaged by these vermin.
Just a ranting. May the rest of you have a pest free growing season.

Make sure to wear mask, gloves and sleeves. Launder your clothes right away.
Side effect varies for every individual. I person I worked with back in Philippines was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. She uses malathion on her rose garden for many years. It could be circumstantial, maybe not.
Take precautions either way. Shortness of breath after inhalation is another thing, make sure it’s not windy.

Thank you, I took all the necessary precautions. I applied late yesterday at dusk in attempt to minimize its affect on other insects and garden fauna. Spiders seem to be doing fin today e and I’ve seen a few bees as well. I didn’t spray any flowering plants which is fine because my azaleas, a rosemary, a single wisteria, and a chojubi seemed to be free of the nasty critters.
