Japanese white pine cuttings

Good Morning to all the Bonsai Gods among us,
I was just wondering if any of you has ever tried to take cuttings from a Japanese white pine?
I have a dwarf cultivar called “Negishi” which I plan to top prune later this year.
If so, do you have any advice on how to maximize my chances? Where to cut, which potting media to use, what time, etc…
I’ve read a post somewhere in the magical depths of internet that the best time to take the cuttings is June. Also, only the strongest of shoots should be used. However, there was not any information regarding the soil. I know that sometimes a sand is used for propagating pine seeds so I’m inclining towards that. Also, any idea regarding the aftercare?
Thank you all very much for any suggestions, ideas and creative thoughts.
May your days be happy and green, Jan.
