Can someone tell me what these black tips could be - it reached freezing temperatures again after growing
Hard to tell but those look like they might be the start of cones.
They fall off immediately when touched lightly
@bernhard they are pollen cones. I noticed them for the first time last year on my hinoki. I was concerned, as I had never seen them before, but someone else told me what they were. Nothing to worry about. Mine has them again this year. The tree will be fine. No worries.
