Hello Mirai community - I am moving and have a bunch of pots (Tokoname, Chinese, mica trainers) and turntables (for easy rotation of trees for sun exposure) that are free to anyone who wants to pick them up in upstate NY 13335. Feel free to message me.
Would love to take you up on this offer, but can’t make it up there from Texas - LOL! If you are willing to ship, let me know. Happy to help you find a home for them.
Hey! Thanks for getting back to me.
I spent the early spring huddled in my greenhouse packing up some 40-50 Sara Rayner and other quality pots to ship to Ryan to post when he gets around to it, so I’m kind of over packing bonsai pots ![]()
If you can help spread the word I would be grateful.
Bob
There are local bonsai retailers in the state that may be interested? A phone call to the big market stores could unload the pots and turntables, if only to control the local market. Maybe last solution before the landfill. Do you not have bonsai associations that could use them for classes? Just brain storming…
Hey Bob - thanks for the thoughts - all good ones. The only brick-and-mortar bonsai supply retailers are way downstate and in Massachusetts, as are any clubs. Definitely a bonsai desert here in central NY. I hope my notice finds an up-and-coming practitioner who would benefit from several thousand bucks worth of free supplies. I remember when I was first starting out I would have jumped all over this, but maybe times have changed. Online retailers certainly make stuff infinitely more available. I really appreciate the input. FYI I also have a used Jan Culek slab and a bunch of lace rock for doing stone plantings not shown in the photos.
Hi Bob, I would be happy to pick everything up (if no one else is interested)
Hi Theresia - the stuff just got picked up by a new Mirai member from the New Paltz Area. Thanks for the interest though! Be well.
Bob
What am incredible find for whoever got those, that’s AWESOME. I’m jealous.
What are the slabs in between pots on the stack?
Hey - in between some of the heavier pots are sticks of wood to allow stacking. Is that what you meant?
Darn! Just missed it! Well I’m glad they found a good home. Who isn’t looking for more pots at all times? Have a great day everyone.
No such thing as too many pots!
