As we approach the end of summer in zone 8 (Netherlands) it’s time to start thinking feedings again.
My question is the following. In late summer / early fall, should I go for a balanced ie 6-6-6 kinda fertilizer of drop the Nitrogen and up the Potassium already?
I tend to use a balanced fertilizer in the fall. The trees still need some nitrogen to build reserves for spring and will use what they need and discard the rest. I believe that the use of 0-10-10 and similar fertilizers in the fall has been shown to be less effective than a more balanced approach.
