Deciduous Design

Just finished the Design Fundamentals video. Outstanding!

My only question, does deciduous design have any differences than the conifers? Almost all of the trees shown were conifers, I believe.

It’s all the same, there is a direction in the trunk line, in the main branch and the apex.
Some trees are less obvious then others though I think.
How about posting some examples of good trees where you can not make out these 3 points. I think direction, flow of a tree is a really interesting subject
I agree sometimes it’s not very obvious.

Deciduous trees tend to have more movement in their branching (greater back budding) and it often goes up and down - more up than down (as deciduous trees they don’t face heavy snow loads). Some deciduous exhibit less deadwood (less preservative resin in the wood). Just s few initial ideas.
