What kind of soil or substrate do you recommend for cultivating cuttings from a Portulacaria afra? Bonsai substrate (lava, pumice, akadama) or a more organic soil as for garden flowers?
Any other things to take into account in cultivation of those cuttings?
Take the cuttings. Let them dry a few days. Plant in bonsai substrate. DON’T water until you see new growth. About a week. Then water and carry on. I take cuttings this way when I trim out my tree. I learned from this blog.
