Corkbark Elm - Help me pick the front

For me, B had better branch placement but E seems gives you a better trunk flare. Tough to tell.

B gets you at a finished tree quicker, but E presumably will give you a better base, but will need much more branch work.

I’m going with B over E, only because of the branching, and because it’s a little difficult to see just how much the base is improved by changing the angle. If it’s a huge improvement, to the base, go with E.

You could also always go with B and work your way to E as the branches develop.

Either way, nice tree.

Just finished repotting (and down to the wire - i just noticed yesterday the buds are starting to swell!) Probably ended up being most similar to B; you be the judge!

Ramification is developing well.

Looks good! I have a similar looking corky, even has the same ‘hip’ and first branch configuration (but shohin sized and only a year in development).

Looking forward to seeing this one in the fall…
