Does this look like candle extension or just a new bud. It’s beginning autumn here in uk and I wouldn’t expect to see this extension now. If it is extension any thoughts on cause or special care over winter. I’d be worried about it hardening off in time.
It may just be the formation of nice big buds for next spring.
