White Pine Care

Hi,

My white Pine has yellowing tips. It’s slowly getting wose. Does any one have any ideas what it could be?

Hi @RicardoA
Your tree looks healthy to me. When was it last repotted? They need a bit of cold in the winter to allow them to rest and not too much water.

Are the yellowing needles this year’s needles or older? If older, it is just setting up to shed them. Might even be shedding some of the oldest of this year’s needles.

If the yellowing is uniform it may be from over watering. Check out this blog.

I also wonder if it could be not enough air to roots/too much H2O. If it has not been repotted recently I’d suggest a late Winter repot in pumice if you have it available. Don’t bare root at repotting.

It’s started late summer. One if the bottom branches is slowly dying.

It was reported about 5 years ago. One of the bottom branches is slowing dying.

Thank you! I’ll try that.

Thank you! I’ll read this post tonight.
