How long should the newly exposed Shari dry out before applying limesulfur to it?

It doesn’t matter whether the deadwood has just been created or has been allowed to dry out for a while. The new deadwood will be slightly sappy and the lime sulphur will not take quite as well as it does when the deadwood is aged a season, it is not necessary to wait after creating deadwood before applying lime sulphur.
Whats the hurry? I personally wait a season, then take the appropriate steps for lime sulphur application.
