Sabina Juniper help?

Hi,

Looking for anyone with any experience with Sabina’s? I am looking at buying one and wondered how they differ from other junipers? Are there any tips, tricks?

Are they classed as mounding or running junipers?

Thanks

A good place to start is here. I was given the confidence to grow them by Peter: Saruyama Blog: A change of clothes or a change of tack?

So here in Spain it’s probably taken me four years to get to grips with Sabina. The one bit of advice I was given by Raffa at Bonsai sense Majorca. “These are not itoigawa they like a Ph of around 7.4. Not adicid. Incorporate some calcium of some sort into the soil mix. Oh and take everything slow. Four years in the making. Full sun. They love it
