Sorry didn’t read your second post
Thanks Marty! Hope to show it in a show in a couple years. Hopefully I can get it into a nice pot this repotting season. (Will update if I find a pot for it) @MartyWeiser any suggestions?
Thanks for the advice! I agree it will help.
Based upon the berries, I am guessing that the tree is about 8" (20 cm) tall and might qualify as a shohin. What time of year do you plan to show it? If it is with berries, I suggest something that compliments them. A fairly shallow rounded corner rectangle will match the trunk and overall shape. A blue or turquoise will complement the berries. I would avoid the deep cobalt blue which is common in commercial pots. A bright red or yellow would be similar to the berries, but different enough to highlight them.
Something of these color values and finish (matte unglazed blue) would highlight your berries (glossy) and trunk texture
@Giordano I was thinking at some point you should design a pot that tells or mimics the awesome story of how the tree/trunk got to look the way it does?
Did you make this? I love this pot!
I did and thanks I appreciate that. I have been experimenting for about 2 years with medium’s (totally weather proof without a kiln). I recently did a pretty wild/out of the box commission for a Mirai member but I will let him get it in the mail, before I post it
I have a thread (2 peice vessel - alternative pot - #16 by NEBeech) with a bunch I just completed
That sounds like an impressive narrative for a tree. Not sure how to accomplish that exactly. Will have to think about how to accomplish that. I think blue would definitely be a great color to complement the berries.+ I love your pot very nice color!
I had a lot of growth on the first branch.
Looking to probably cut back a bit for tapper? I might leave it to continue developing shape. The apex is a little bit of a bush so will clean up in the fall. Anyone have any advice?
Looking to continue to develop. Also like to hear or see a pyracantha that someone is working on for inspiration.
I think the length of the lower branches is helping you, so I would t take to much off. I love this tree!
