Forest plantings are among my favorites and you have both gotten off to a great start! I recently repotted one of my larch forests and decoded to flip the planting around to make the back into the front. I had to move one tree to make it feasible. I’ll share some pictures here. Still trying to remove the original field soil on this planting. But I’ve made considerable progress. These are mostly collected trees. It’s ok for your vision for your forest plantings to change as you look at them over the years.
