Fusiform rust, loblolly pine

I bought a young loblolly pine (pinus taeda) last year, nursery plant, to develop. I put it in a grow box this spring. During the summer it developed some abnormal swelling in a few locations, galls, that have just gotten larger through the fall. After google searches I believe it is fusiform rust which is a common fungus here in loblolly and slash pine. Not much info on treatment except for forest management stuff. Does anyone have experience with this? Wondering if I should prune off the galls, which would be a trunk chop the same year as repotting, or just let it ride?
