I have never seen a borer beetle, unfortunately only the larva, can anyone tell of this is one?
I think that’s the shiny juniper collector killer beetle
I would say get online and look through beetle pictures.
Do you still have it?
Did it hiss at you?
It’s hard to tell from your pics to identify exactly which one.
There is a lot of beetles all with different characteristics.
It is not alive, after it crawled off of my hand it was smashed into the bricks. I didn’t want to take any chances with it getting away and laying eggs on any of my junipers. I will check some pictures online.
