Question for the void

Two summers ago, I switched to a new cube of genuine New Zealand … sphagnum moss.

That summer started to see this large green lichen like stuff. About the size of an American quarter This year, it is everwhere…even huge patches on the ground under benches. Note the little umbrella…

Deap dive into lichens, looks like a Peltegera species; but then, I’m an aspiring space cadet and not a lichenologest.

.

.

Was lifting the whole mass out and discarding. Luckily, Roundup ‘painted’ directly on kills it. More invasive than Scotch moss.

Note the overly aggressive moss around it… probably sphagnum moss. Grows ~3" in a summer and takes over a pot. NOT the tight short green moss I like…

Blame it on the Bosanova…

Bonsai On!

I’ll admit I don’t know what you question is..

I have been using this stuff for years, very expensive but very clean and dry.
I haven’t seen any weeds that aren’t local or planted by the chipmunks when using this brand.

I have seen moss develop 3” in one season, I actually had moss grow 3” over the winter on a dormant tree but I treat my water in the winter with saponins so I blamed it on that.

Here the chipmunks are a constant issue, they are always present and no repellents are effective.

They dig, plant and poop seeds.
If you have them, they may be part of the issue.

If I mis understood your post, sorry
